Many organizations around the world struggle to meet mandated hiring quotas for individuals with disabilities, facing challenges in identifying and assessing candidates with sensory, physical or intellectual impairments. This difficulty is compounded by the need to comply with legal and regulatory requirements for diversity hiring all the while making sure that candidates are effectively matched to roles that align with their abilities. Without an efficient and inclusive assessment solution, companies risk non-compliance, higher recruitment costs and missed opportunities to foster a truly diverse workforce.

The goal

DiverSCInnova aimed to develop a solution to support differently-abled individuals. The goal was to design a tool that enables inclusive hiring, professional development, and role alignment for companies, while also aiding educational planning and vocational guidance. By addressing these needs, DiverSCInnova sought to promote inclusivity and help organizations and educators effectively align talent with opportunities.

The proposed solution

Pixelette Technologies developed AIA, a gamified cognitive mapping tool designed to help organizations meet diversity hiring quotas and support inclusive talent development. Made for individuals with sensory, physical or intellectual disabilities, AIA assesses up to 10 cognitive skills such as focus, attention and logical reasoning. It provides detailed reports highlighting candidates' strengths, suitable roles and tips for skill enhancement. AIA also supports educational planning and vocational guidance, enabling educators and organizations to match skills with opportunities, comply with regulations and create inclusive work an learning environments.

Pixelette Technologies took an intentional, cross-departmental approach to developing AIA, deploying resources from research, design, development and our AI teams. The project was completed in 7 months, with each phase executed collaboratively to promote inclusivity, functionality and regulatory compliance.
